It was back in 2001 or early 2002 when I first read the above quote and it angered me. Why? Because it called me out. The jig was up. I couldn’t hide any longer.
A mediocre life was not meant for me and I knew it. I was just too afraid to step beyond the status quo. But thankfully this burning in my belly didn’t leave. Instead it haunted me until I decided to learn what my purpose was and begin to use my gifts and talents to live it out.
So that you know, all the answers don’t come at once, but as you move forward things become clearer. You begin to live the life you were meant to live and the journey becomes joy.
There will always be challenges, but the rewards for a life of meaning and contribution to others is good enough reason to persevere.
I encourage you not to wait until 2017 to start. Do it now. It’s time to come out of the shadows and live a life of purpose and meaning.
In what ways have you been hiding or playing it small? How will you change this? Let’s talk about this some more. Leave your responses below.
