Building up the broken places in society.
As it was in Nehemiah’s day, so it is today, the walls have been torn down and the gates destroyed. As a society, we are left exposed to all sorts of situations that leave us in a state of reproach. Turn to the latest headlines and you’ll read about atrocities such as human trafficking, gang violence, and teenage drug abuse to corporate and political corruption, famine, poverty, and discrimination. The list goes on and on.
My Nehemiah Project (MNP) is a training program for teenagers to encourage and equip them to be effective agents of positive change.
By following the example set by Nehemiah in rebuilding the wall around Jerusalem, My Nehemiah Project will help teens tap into their gifts and talents to collectively and positively impact the world around them. Teens will work together to develop a strategy to bring relief and a solution to unsolved societal problems and in the process acquire skills that will serve them throughout life. These skills include:
- Communication skills
- Research ability
- Presentation skills
- Problem solving
- Conflict resolution
- Listening skills
- Strategic planning
- Consensus building
