“How many of you have a personal mission statement?” That’s the question I asked approximately 30 grad students Tuesday evening. Not surprisingly only three hands went up. Here were grown ups pursuing a master’s degree and building a career, but to what end?
I can’t be hard on them though. There was a time when I thought a person having a mission statement was the most ridiculous thing, but not anymore.
Just like in business, a mission statement keeps you focused, helps you make decisions, and moves you in the right direction for accomplishing great things.
Our missions become our legacies and our legacies are determined by the actions we take every single day. @YesIAmAlicia
We don’t just leave legacies; we live them. And in so doing we write the stories of our own lives. @YesIAmAlicia
