It’s 2018–a new year. Does there need to be a new you or do you simply need to get back to the basics and do you…the real you?
I’ve learned that you can make resolutions, set goals and plan your life 365 days a year, but without knowing what you’re gifted to do or what you want out of life only leads to living your life through osmosis (a gradual assimilation of knowledge that you work to fit into).
The above is a prime example of life happening to you instead of you happening to life. This was my story for years. I made decisions based on what I thought my parents expected of me, proper business protocol required and what my career seemed to demand. I was living my life as though I didn’t have a choice in how things played out. Have you ever felt like this?
Well, I’m happy to tell you that you do have a choice. You always did and you still do. To do you in 2018 you need:
Clarity — Get clear on what you want out of life and what it will mean for you to achieve it.
Commitment — Create a realistic game plan for making it happen and a short compelling list describing why it is important to you.
Courage — Be bold and share your new plan with those who support you, but also with a selected few who may have a different viewpoint about what you should do with your life. Then take a deep breath and put your plan into action.
Don’t over-complicate the process. Search your heart and keep it simple. For additional guidance, read this post to help you through the process.
Here’s to a fabulous 2018!
